Jeremiah: God’s response to complaints
Psalm 34:4
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Jeremiah 12:5-6 & 1:17-19
“If you have raced with men on foot and
they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble[a] in safe
country, how will you manage in the thickets by[b] the
Jordan?
6 Your relatives, members of your own family—even they have betrayed you; they have raised a loud cry against you. Do not trust them, though they speak well of you.
6 Your relatives, members of your own family—even they have betrayed you; they have raised a loud cry against you. Do not trust them, though they speak well of you.
17 “Get yourself ready! Stand up
and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will
terrify you before them. 18 Today I have
made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against
the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the
people of the land. 19 They will fight
against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,”
declares the Lord.
