But when the kindness and love of God our
Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of
righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us
through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,6
whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our
Savior (Titus 3:4-6 NIV)

2 The evening meal was
in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon
Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father
had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and
was returning to God;
